Hormonal Optimization for Anti Aging

Uzzi Reiss M.D.

Saturday, May 26th 11:15 - 12:30
Continental Room
From the very start of his clinical practice twenty years ago, Dr. Uzzi Reiss' objective has been to help patients correct lifestyle mistakes from the past, overcome symptoms in the present, and move forward to a healthier future.  He accomplishes this with individualized programs of natural hormones, nutrition and mind/body principles.

In the early 1980s he began adopting innovative 'alternative' methods in his obstetrical-gynecological practice. He soon found that the approach gave patients powerful options with which to maximize health while minimizing the need for pharmaceuticals and surgery.  In 1982, he opened the first Pre Menstrual Syndrome (PMS) health center that was aimed to resolve this condition by a natural, hormonal approach.  A decade later, when the exciting field of anti-aging medicine emerged, Dr. Reiss was among the first physicians participating in courses and applying the new research in his practice.

In 1997, Dr. Reiss opened the Beverly Hills Anti-Aging Center, and began seeing male patients as well. It was a natural expansion of his prevention-oriented practice for women.  Two years later he became board-certified in anti-aging medicine by the American Association of Anti-Aging Medicine, one of the first physicians to earn this distinction.

Dr. Reiss does more than prescribe pills for his patients’ symptoms, he also emphasizes prevention, searches for the causes of problems, and works with patients to optimize their health.  He believes that a physician should be as concerned about improving the health of patients as in treating illness.  To achieve these goals the doctor should use the most effective and the least invasive tools available, and which cause the least possible side effects.

Dr. Reiss has written four books.  In Natural Hormone Balance for Women, he draws on his many years of clinical experience, providing a step-by-step program for women of all ages who want to take control of their lives by restoring hormonal balance.  In How to Make a Pregnant Woman Happy, he addresses how to prevent the challenges of pregnancy nutritionally.  How to Make a New Mother Happy teaches how to overcome the challenges of the post period, including post partum depression, with nutrient and natural hormones.  The Natural Superwoman is an informative encyclopedia that supplies scientific data on the value, the safety, and the significant benefits of nutrients and natural hormones in our society today and any age.

Dr. Reiss was born in Haifa, Israel, and studied at the University of Siena, Italy.  He received his medical degree from the Institute of Technology in Haifa and did his internship and residency in obstetrics and gynecology at the Afula Medical Center in Israel.  He completed his U.S. residency at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine, Bronx Municipal Hospital, New York and was the Chief Resident of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology from 1979-80. In 1980 he completed a fellowship in fetal-maternal medicine at the University of California Medical Center, Los Angeles. Since then he has been in private practice in Beverly Hills, specializing in gynecology, obstetrics, and anti-aging medicine.   He has been an attending physician at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center since 1981.
